About Us
Thank you for visiting Muddy Water Pottery Studio
Our pottery studio was named Muddy Water as a result of school art lessons many moons ago. I need to say “they weren’t conventional!! We painted our leather/jean jackets and pretty much anything else we could get our hands on apart from paper.
The art room was in an annexe over a garage and anything that went down the sink flooded out in front of it, so cleaning up wasn’t a chore it was a wonderful rainbow of colours spreading out into a mini lake.
(“Hey don’t judge me, I grew up when phones were connected to the wall and a smart phone was just in the shape of Micky Mouse”)
Anyway by the time the bell went it had usually turned in to muddy water, so my childhood antics gave way to the name Muddy Water Pottery Studio.
Art in lots of forms has been with me forever but when I discoverd pottery it was just the most amazing wonderful feeling, transforming mud in to anything you can imagine, I had found my passion and the fascination that every thing made is totally unique.
I’m pretty much self taught and I love that I learn so much every day, it’s never boring even when things go wrong and they do sometime spectacularly or you make something that is simply sensational.
We have lived on the edge of Beautiful Exmoor for 23 Years and the pottery studio has been create so I can share my love of all things clay.
So you are welcome to my world for a little while, come and unlock your creativity and amaze yourself in how talented you are, leave the stress and rush behind for a couple of hours and loose yourself in making a truly one off totally unique piece of amazingness.
